Five Reasons Why The Washington Redskins Defense Will Get Better

The Washington Redskins defense has been pretty underwhelming during the first three weeks of the 2010 NFL season, bringing up the rear of the league in total defense thus far.

The much-vaunted 3-4 switch installed by new defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has had flashes, but has lacked consistency thus far.
Often players look out of position, quarterbacks have been lighting up the secondary and Stephen Jackson plain made Washington’s run defense look silly last week.

But, things will get better. It takes time for a team to transition to a 3-4 defense, to a new coordinator and new personnel.
Indeed, the scheme is so radically different from last year’s ultra-vanilla play calling to this year’s aggressive mentality that it makes the learning curve all the more sharp.
