NFL Rumors: Peyton Manning Not Ready for Contract Talks

November 3, 2010   ·     ·   Jump to comments

It appears that contract talks have stalled between the Indianapolis Colts and star quarterback Peyton Manning.
Colts owner, Jim Irsay, spoke with the Indianapolis Star and said the negotiation was "ready to roll." However, "They wanted to wait."
Irsay went on to say, "That was fine with us, and every player's different. The Patriots got it done [with Tom Brady] during the season. We had the bye week and I think we could have got rolling more, but also understand about waiting until the end."
Although the talks are dead, it doesn't mean Manning wont be back as a Colt next season, he will retire as a Colt.
It's just that Manning wants to focus solely on the season.
