DeAngelo Williams Injury Update: Inactive, Jonathan Stewart Starts For Carolina

The Carolina Panthers will be without running back DeAngelo Williams for the second straight week, as he's inactive for the Panthers' Week 9 meeting with the New Orleans Saints. Williams has been slowed by a foot injury in recent weeks, and as a result he will be out of action yet again as the team takes on a middle-of-the-pack New Orleans run defense.

Jonathan Stewart will be the leading rusher for the Panthers, as they'll hope Stewart can find his form of previous years. Stewart did nothing while being the team's leading rusher in Week 8, and has struggled throughout the year with or without Williams in the lineup.

He should get a healthy dose of carries given quarterback Matt Moore's inconsistency this year, but it remains to be seen whether or not Stewart can get anything going on the ground in 2010.
