NFL Week 9 Picks: Green Bay Packers Defense Should Perform Well On Sunday Night

It's hard to improve on pitching a defensive shutout on the road, and I don't see the Green Bay Packers exactly replicating their great performance against the New York Jets in Week 8. However, at home on Sunday night against the dead in the water Dallas Cowboys and their back-up quarterback? I expect big things from Green Bay's patchwork yet still effective defense.

All the talk around Green Bay has been about the staggering volume of injuries the Packers have withstood, but they still boast a defense with an All Pro-caliber talent in Clay Matthews who has been making big defensive plays all year long.

Combine Matthews and company's strong showings over the last two Green Bay wins with Dallas' total ineptitude on offense last week against Jacksonville, one of the worst defensive units in the league, and it makes for a very rough match-up for the Cowboys.
