2010 NFL Draft: Does Tim Tebow Make Sense for the Cleveland Browns Now?

Now that the shock over the Cleveland Browns signing a 35-year-old quarterback to a two-year deal has begun to fade, let's look at the Browns draft strategy in the wake of this decision. To say Jake Delhomme is going to be a transitional quarterback would be the understatement of the year. Let's also address the elephant in the room in Tim Tebow, Hello Tim!! With Delhomme most likely already pencilled in as the Browns starter, Team President Mike Holmgren now can take a quarterback higher in the draft and put him behind a solid veteran. Delhomme, despite his 2009 season, has had a pretty good career, so he'll be a good mentor to whomever Holmgren and General Manager Tom Heckert decide to draft. That's Delhomme's upside in this situation. Plus, if the Browns wait until the second or third round to take a quarterback, there's less pressure to get the guy on the field immediately.
