Brian St. Pierre Named Carolina Panthers’ Starting Quarterback Sunday Vs. Ravens

What can five career pass attempts and zero starts in the NFL get a 30-year-old quarterback?
A starting spot in Carolina, apparently.
Panthers head coach John Fox announced Brian St. Pierre will get the start Sunday. His task in his first NFL start: the Baltimore Ravens.
St. Pierre was drafted in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. As a Steeler, he attempted one pass. It was incomplete. He did, however, run the ball four times. He lost three yards.
St. Pierre did not see action again until 2009 with the Arizona Cardinals, in which he was 2-of-4 for 12 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also fumbled once.
Matt Moore is on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. Jimmy Clausen suffered a concussion in last Sunday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tony Pike was unimpressive in a couple of relief appearances this season.
