Pierre Thomas Injury Update: Saints RB Remains Out, Has Torn Tendon In Ankle

According to news released this morning, New Orleans Saints running back suffered a torn tendon in his last game, the Saints' Week 3 game, which is the true cause of his absences over the last six Saints games. The injury was originally described as a high ankle sprain, but apparently the injury was much more severe and could have required surgery to properly correct it.

Thomas has been ruled out in Week 11 but has claimed that he'll possibly be healthy enough to play on Thanksgiving when the Saints take on the Dallas Cowboys. Still, playing on an ankle with torn tendons can't be an easy task for the runner who relies on his lateral movement and speed.

Thomas' status warrants checking up on before Week 12 kicks off this Thursday, but don't count on him being back on Turkey Day.
