2011 Washington Redskins: Shanahan Still Paying Off Cerrato’s Gambling Debts

It’s difficult to come up with something interesting to talk about regarding the Washington Redskins at this point, five games away from the 2010-11 season finale.

Though the team has been subject to much drama this season with Fat Al, McNabb-gate and the meat grinder that is the running backs spot, the 5-6 Redskins have really come up blah as the team begins to round the corner to the season finale.

Barring a miraculous run, the Redskins are not making the 2010 playoffs. Not surprising.
The team was 4-12 last year and a complete mess under Zorn. Close observers of the team (including yours truly) pegged the crew as underachieving, believing that a new and more professional coaching staff could whip these boys into shape.

That much has happened, for certain. However, while the team’s younger talent has been better used overall (especially on defense), some positions have just gotten another year older and deeper in debt.
