Colt McCoy: Browns Name Rookie QB Starter For The Rest Of 2010

Colt McCoy appears to be the quarterback of the future for the Cleveland Browns.

Head Coach Eric Mangini named McCoy the starter on Thursday after seeing him in practice on Wednesday and noting how his ankle responded to the workout.

This is a big sigh of relief for Browns fans, who were dreading seeing Jake Delhomme make another start. Delhomme's skills have "diminished," to use a term all Browns fans love to hear, and he's just not as mobile as he needs to be behind an offensive line that is full of holes on the right side.

The Browns now get to see what McCoy looks like in December in the cold Northeastern Ohio climate, and if he passes the test, then there's no doubt you'll be seeing No. 12 behind center in Cleveland for many years to come.

With McCoy starting on Sunday, and Chad Ochocinco possibly missing the game due to a foot injury, the Browns chances of winning just went up tenfold.
