Rex Grossman: Former Bears QB Gets Another Shot With Washington

December 17, 2010   ·     ·   Jump to comments

Rex Grossman has reportedly replaced Donovan McNabb as the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins.
McNabb is nursing a sore hamstring, but practiced on Thursday. His trip to the bench might be more the result of poor overall play this season.
Despite having the second most passing yards in the NFC, the former Eagle has thrown more interceptions (15) than touchdowns (14). And with the team trailing Detroit 31-25, Grossman replaced McNabb in order to run the two-minute offense.
Grossman was the starter for the 2006 Bears and started Super Bowl XLI for the Bears, turning the ball over three times.
Grossman left Chicago in 2009 and spent that year as a backup in Houston. He joined Washington in March but has only thrown passed in the Lions game in Week Eight. He was 4-for-7 with a critical fumble in the team's loss.
