At long last, the stage is set for Aaron Rodgers to finally emerge from the darkness.
Since being drafted by Green Bay in 2005, Brett Favre’s heir apparent has been cloaked in the enormous shadow cast by his mentor. Such is the reality for every top-flight NFL prospect who gets scooped up by a team that’s well entrenched with a superstar at the rookie’s respective position.
Rodgers went from college royalty to professional obscurity practically overnight thanks to a living legend who made headlines not only for on-field performance but off-field “Will-he-or-won’t-he?” retirement talk.
Now, Rodgers has a chance at closing out his “rise-to-fame” gamut with a storybook victory in Super Bowl XLV. And what a win it would be for one of the all-around, most-admirable players in the game today.
