Clay Matthews: Can Packers Linebacker Affect the Super Bowl More Than Steelers Safety?
As we all know by now, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu won the Defensive Player of the Year over Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, by a margin of just two votes.
Some disagree with the selection, others agree, but there's no denying both are on the top of their game these days.
This is nothing new for Polamalu. He's been doing this for years. He's widely considered to be one of the biggest difference-makers on the defensive side of the ball.
The question is, on a big stage, will Matthews play the way he has been all season, or will he disappoint?
I think he's shown he can play big in the playoffs, with 3.5 sacks in three playoff games.
But can he outshine Polamalu?
Clearly a tall order, but nonetheless possible. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is playing out of his mind this season, so Polamalu shouldn't be as big a force. But Steelers QB Ben Roethlisber...
