NFL Mock Draft 2011: Minnesota Vikings Add Cal DE/OLB Cameron Jordan at No. 12

The Vikings desperately need a quarterback but they won't find one here. They could also really use a safety, but No. 12 would be a reach for Rahim Moore. That leaves two options: trading the pick or taking the best player available. Since it's impossible to predict trades this early, I'm going to stick with the second option and give them Jordan.
At 6'4" and 287 pounds, Jordan has the prototypical size to be a defensive end at the NFL level. He relies more on strength than speed, but is no slouch when it comes to getting around the corner. He plays smart and hard, and would be a good fit for any 3-4 defense. His sack totals are relatively low for a pass-rusher of his ability, but he had little help on the Golden Bears defense and was often double-teamed.
Jordan could start opposite Jared Allen in place of Ray Edwards to give the Vikings a fearsome set of pass-rushers. Or Minnesota could go off the map and take someone like offensive tackle Tyron Smith.
