Will Carson Palmer leave from before the Draft?
Is Carson Palmer for real?
We’ve seen this scenario before – a disgruntled star threatening retirement to force a trade – so I realize we’re conditioned to guess the immediate answer as a resounding no.
But what if we’re wrong? Carson Palmer has always been something of an outlier, and at least one teammate seems to thinks there is reason to take him seriously:
“A guy that grows a random beard and is really quiet, when they speak, you listen.” Said Chad Ochocinco (via Adena Andrews). “Trust me. He is not playing.”
More substantive is CBSSports’ Clark Judge, who after relaying the following from two sources he claims to trust – Palmer will “never, ever, ever play for [Cincinnati] again.” – continues on to say this:
