2011 NFL Mock Draft: Baylor's Phil Taylor Fills Vital Need for Jets:
The New York Jets have some serious concerns along the defensive line to address if they are to remain an elite defensive unit. Jason Taylor and Kris Jenkins are both free agents. Shaun Ellis is aging. New York should look at no other position group than defensive line with its 30th overall pick.
Baylor's Phil Taylor should be their man. He can play nose tackle or stay over the guard. His talent is undeniable, but there is concern about Taylor's work ethic. Teams watch his game film and see him taking plays off from time to time.
Taylor told Greg Rosenthal of Pro Football Talk that this was due to weight problems that he has put into check. He's lost nearly 30 pounds to drop into the 330s. No longer a blob relying on size alone, Taylor looks more like a sizable athlete that can disrupt an offense.
