Miami Dolphins: 39 Years Later the 1972 Team Still Has to Prove Themselves

In 2007, NFL fans watched an impressive run by the New England Patriots. The media unanimously rooted for the New England Patriots to be perfectly undefeated, only to be upset by the vastly underrated New York Giants in the Super Bowl. I will forever be a Justin Tuck fan.
Miami Dolphins fans cheered everywhere. The media cringed. 
The media, and many NFL fans, are bored with perfect 1972 Miami Dolphins. Weird isn't it? 
Many mock the macho-confidence of Mercury Morris and the gathering of teammates for champagne when the last undefeated team is defeated. 
I love Mercury Morris. Anyone who triumphs in life in spite of a chemical addiction is consider great in my book. Add an undefeated season to his resume and his greatness is amplified. 
It's so strange that, in a society driven by the desire for perfection, very few outside of the Dolphin's faithful, consider the 1972 Miami Dolphins to be really that dominating. Nope, it's the Steel Curtain...
