Chargers Hope Higher Picks In 2011 NFL Draft Leads to a Better Draft
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune the Chargers 2010 rookie class played fewer snaps than any other team. And apparently that is just a continuation of a recent trend.
For the past three seasons the Chargers rookies have played the seventh fewest snaps of any team.
In light of this it is no surprise that they saw their recent run of AFC West dominance crawl to an end. This is not a fact lost on Norv Turner.
You look at the people in our division and why they’ve gotten better, they’ve had high picks and they’ve had them the last 10 years,” Norv Turner told the San Diego Union-Tribune in the above linked article. “Our picks aren’t as high. (Picking 18th in the first round) isn’t as high as drafting in the top 10. But having the first-round pick, the two twos, two threes, we’re going to add some young players that hopefully can impact our games.”
