The 2011 NFL Draft is quickly approaching and it promises to be an even bigger event this year, as it is the only non-lockout football we have to discuss.
The lockout has also created a unique set of circumstances for this draft. For the first time since the advent of free agency, the draft is going to be held before a team has a chance to fill holes on their roster with free agents.
Outside free agents aren't the only uncertainty leading up to this draft; teams can't even be sure who among their own players will be back.
That means the franchise tag placed on Tamba Hali may be meaningless—not to mention the numerous tenders placed on players with six or less years of service.
And all of this places even more emphasis on the draft.
