NFL Mock Draft 2011: Jacksonville Jaguars Add Serious Speed with Ryan Kerrigan

Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.

With the 16th overall selection, the Jaguars could go in many different directions.  However the overwhelming issue facing Jack Del Rio's crew is their lack of talent on the defensive side of the football -- allowing 250.2 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks, as well as forcing just 26 sacks all of last season.

The fortunate thing for Jacksonville is that this draft is chalk full of talent on the defensive line.  One such prospect the Jaguars are hoping for is Purdue's speedy defensive end, Ryan Kerrigan.

Kerrigan is rated as just the sixth-best defensive end according to NFL Draft Scout, but his talents are second to none compared to his fellow linemen.  Along with posing impressive numbers at the NFL Combine (4.67 40-yard dash, 31 bench reps), Kerrigan would be a solid pickup for Del Rio's talent-deprived defense.
