Detroit Lions Forced to Go With O-Line Star Nate Solder in 2011 NFL Draft
The Lions would love to nab a top-tier cornerback in the first round. If Prince Amukamara slips to them, I see them taking him with no questions being asked.
However, I just don't see this happening. The two star corners will be gone, and there is not a linebacker worth taking. The other position the Lions need help in is at offensive line.
It may not be what they really need, but they do fill a hole with one of the best talents in the draft. It is a good thing too. Besides beefing up the defense, the other major area the Lions need to address is keeping Matthew Stafford alive.
Stafford has been too often injured. The Lions cannot afford another year with Stafford on the sidelines. Getting him some safety precautions in the form of a stout lineman is crucial.
