2011 NFL Mock Draft Gives The Saints A Chance To Get A Solid Running Back
Tom Kinslow's Pick: Coming into the draft, the New Orleans Saints didn't expect to see Mark Ingram on the board once they were on the clock.
Yet, thanks to Miami, the most likely suitor for Ingram's services, passing in favor of Mike Pouncey, it opened the door for a slide down the first round, landing him in prime position for the Saints to snag him. Ingram is a former Heisman winner and is an NFL-ready running back.
While New Orleans would ideally like to make a play for a defensive lineman, Ingram's availability at this point is too much to pass on, especially when you consider the situation in the backfield last year, as both Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush dealt with injuries.
There are health concerns with Ingram's knee, but in the end, the value at this point in the draft could cause the Saints to pass on an defensive lineman in favor of the former Alabama player if he's still on the...
