DeMarco Sampson to the Arizona Cardinals: 2011 NFL Draft Scouting Report

DeMarco Sampson was the top receiver on the surprising San Diego State squad that earned a bowl berth in 2010—and the success turned out to be Brady Hoke’s ticket back to Michigan as the Wolverines’ head coach.
Sampson caught 67 balls for 1,220 yards and eight touchdowns for the Aztecs, but that's when he held on to the ball. The biggest knock against the 6'2", 205-pounder is not his work ethic or his football smarts. That he has.
But his hands have been described as "maddeningly inconsistent." That appears to have been his undoing as one of the last players to be taken, because as Gil Brandt of NFL.com wrote, he turned heads at SDSU's Pro Day.
"(Chargers head coach Norv) Turner ran the drills for wide receivers, with two players standing out among the mix. DeMarco Sampson also attended the combine and posted a set of fresh numbers at the pro day.
