Eric Hagg to Cleveland Browns: 2011 NFL Draft Scouting Report

April 30, 2011   ·     ·   Jump to comments

Eric Hagg is a classic case of a player who doesn't wow in drills, but shows flashes of brilliance on the field.
Unfortunately for Hagg, a poor showing at the Senior Bowl and the Combine really hurt his draft stock and with 2010 being his only truly impressive season, he slide down draft boards like many players before him.
At 6'1" and 209 lbs Hagg runs in the 4.5-4.6 range depending on the day of the week, but his game film shows a player who's simply quicker once the action is for real.
With five interceptions in 2010, Hagg was instrumental in leading Nebraska to one of the top pass defenses in the country. It's why he was voted by his teammates as the Cornhuskers MVP. He may not have the speed and range scouts look for, but Hagg is a gamer.
The fact that he fell all the way to the back end of the seventh round is very surprising and there's a good chance he ends up sticking on the Brown's roster.
