NFLPA Pressures Site into Abandoning Goal to Be Medium for Union Recertification

A web site that had independently contacted NFL players as recently as Friday with hopes to serve as the medium for the NFLPA's recertification has abandoned that agenda, after discouragement from key union officials.
The site, National Football League Virtual Reality, changed the banner on its home page since Friday, which now reads, "Due to recent conversation in between us and George Atallah of the NFLPA via Twitter, we have removed some content off our site.
"We learned that the NFLPA is not interested in doing voting on our site in order to recertify the NFL Player's Union once an agreement has been made."
The site also emphasized that any votes that may have been, or could be, cast would not be counted or documented toward any recertification, official or otherwise.
"... PLEASE vote however you are instructed to by the NFLPA as your vote on our site will NOT be taken into account," read the site's front page.
