New York Giants Lose 2 Key Players in a Matter of Hours

Giants first-round draft pick Prince Amukamara will be sidelined indefinitely after a physical examination discovered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot. The ink is not yet dry on the four-year contract the promising CB signed just days ago. The injury will require surgery and a screw will be inserted into the foot to facilitate the recovery.
The Giants already lost cornerback Bruce Johnson to a torn Achilles but he wasn’t going to figure in to the rotation. Veteran Aaron Ross—himself a once-promising CB—will have to be relied on at the position going forward. Ross ironically refused an assignment to safety when camp opened. Now he gets his chance to prove his worth at the position.
