NFL Predictions 2011: Houston Texans Will Challenge the Jets

Some folks don't count the preseason games. Others feel like they are very important to set the tone for the regular season.
The Houston Texans is a young franchise compared to the 50-year-old New York Jets. Let's hope that the eight-year-old Texans franchise will show a powerful determination in the first preseason game for 2011. On Aug. 15, the Texans will play the Jets in Reliant Stadium.
When you look at the record you see that the New York Jets have won 351 games, lost 413 and tied eight games over their 50 year history. The win-loss average of the New York Jets is .460.
On the other hand the Texans have won 55 games, lost 89 games and have zero ties. The win-loss average for the Houston Texans is .382.
If history is at all connected to the present and the future, then we can study the pattern of win-loss averages over a five year period and see that the Texans had a maximum average in 2009, dropped a little in 2010, and were constant at .500 in 2008 and 2007.<...
