Tim Tebow: Comparing the Broncos Read-Option to the Dolphins’ Wildcat Offense

In 2009, the Miami Dolphins introduced the NFL to the Wildcat offense, and in 2011, the Denver Broncos introduced the NFL to the read-option offense.
Two teams looking for innovative wrinkles to employ for enhanced success.
Although at times, these formations and philosophies have been seen in the NFL, these teams have made them a staple to their playbook.
The read-option is more of a an overall philosophy, while the wildcat is more of a formation.
The wildcat is more geared to success in the red zone as opposed to its use within the 20s.
The Broncos utilize the read-option because it's a system that brings out the strengths of Tebow as it is an offensive philosophy he was most accustomed to while at the University of Florida.
To me, the read-option is more reactionary offensively, as Tebow will watch the purposely unblocked defensive end in order to force him into a decision and to then read and react to him as to whether he's keying in on the QB or ...
