2012 Seattle Seahawks Preview: Matt Flynn out to Prove Himself

It has been a roller coaster ride all the way through, but Seattle has managed to grab former Packer Matt Flynn from free agency. His pay isn't anything special - definitely not anywhere near what a franchise quarterback gets paid.
Although head coach Pete Carrol has told Flynn that he does not automatically become the starter for 2012, it is expected that he will be able to outplay the inconsistent Tarvaris Jackson. 
"We are really excited to bring Matt in here to compete with Tarvaris," Carroll said.
Flynn, the former backup of Aaron Rodgers, has only started two games in his four-year career in the NFL. Those two starts are what has gotten everyone's attention - terrific performances including a nail-biter season finale against the Lions last year. Flynn threw a record six touchdowns with 480 yards. He ended the day with a 136.4 rating and only one interception.
