Why the Green Bay Packers Would Be Wise to Pay Aaron Rodgers Anything He Wants

You knew it was only a matter of time after Joe Flacco signed a six-year, $120.6 million contract that made him the NFL's highest paid player.
With two years remaining on a relatively modest contract, the clock was ticking for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and it was very clear that the ninth-year pro was going to have his own Rod Tidwell moment.
It appears that that day is coming very soon.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday on "NFL Live" via Rotoworld that the Packers and Rodgers are working on a four-year, $100 million megadeal that would make Rodgers the NFL's salary king.
"This is a very simple deal to do for Aaron Rodgers," said Schefter. "There are many people around the league who are expecting a four-year, $25-plus million extension a year. ... That's how that deal is going to come down when it comes down."
