Victor Cruz Reportedly Offered Contract in Excess of $7 Million a Year by Giants

The New York Giants reportedly made a multi-year contract offer to restricted free agent WR Victor Cruz on Saturday, worth over $7 million per season.
NFL.com's Around the League Twitter account relayed the news, as originally reported by Gary Myers of the New York Daily News:
This confirms an assertion from earlier in the week by ESPN insider Adam Schefter, who indicated that no team would extend an offer sheet to Cruz. Schefter's analogous tweet poked a little bit of fun at the expense of polarizing New York Jets QB Tim Tebow:
Cruz would have gone to another team if the Giants refused to match an offer. Since New York tagged him with a first-round tender, it still would have gotten a first-round pick in return.
Considering the injury difficulties that fellow Giants star receiver Hakeem Nicks has endured, Cruz's return to the Big Apple is wonderful news for the G-Men.
