Dallas Cowboys: Dante Rosario and Jason Garrett’s Attack Plan

Dallas Cowboys' newly-signed tight end Dante Rosario caught three touchdown passes for San Diego in a single game last year. That equals Jason Witten’s touchdown total for the entire 2012 season.
This is significant for a couple of reasons. First, Rosario did this in San Diego, where Norv Turner was running the same offense as Dallas. The last time Dallas plucked a receiver from San Diego, his name was Laurent Robinson. Because Robinson already knew the playbook, he was able to come in and contribute right away. 
Second, the fact that Rosario accomplished a very rare tight end hat trick last year tells us that he can be dangerous when a defensive secondary takes him lightly. When you combine these two facts, it seems likely that Rosario will be competing for the second tight end spot, not just offering veteran depth on the bench.
