The New York Giants are hoping their first win of 2013 was a sign of good things still to come this season. The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to shake off last week’s abysmal showing like it was only a bad dream.
Only one of these NFC East rivals can walk out of Lincoln Financial Field with the peace of mind they are searching for on Sunday.
New York has already dropped one game to Philadelphia this season, a 36-21 final that seemingly cemented one club’s status as cellar dweller, the other a team on the rise. That feels like a long time ago now though. Their record may be 1-6, but the G-men are no pushovers, while the Birds have come crashing down to earth, all momentum lost for the moment.
New York upended the hapless Minnesota Vikings 23-7 on Monday night, while Philadelphia was stymied 17-3 by the Dallas Cowboys in a battle for first place in the division in Week 7.
