Eagles Trade Isaac Sopoaga and 6th-Round Pick to Patriots for 5th-Round Pick

In an effort to improve their defensive line, the New England Patriots have made a trade for Isaac Sopoaga of the Philadelphia Eagles. The transaction took place just before the league's trade deadline.

Sopoaga spent the first eight years of his career anchoring the San Francisco 49ers and gained a reputation as an elite run-stopper. This offseason, he cashed in as a free agent and signed a three-year contract with the Eagles.     
Despite the pricey salary, the Patriots will only have to pay minimal cost for the lineman with two non-guaranteed years remaining, according to Andrew Brandt of ESPN:
