Darren Sproles Learns About Future with Saints on Twitter

Social media has its advantages, but it can be a rough way for a professional athlete to find out important information.
Last week, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported that the New Orleans Saints would be cutting running back Darren Sproles. That meant the player would be able to sign with any team he wanted once free agency started.
Not so fast.
Sproles has apparently generated a lot of interest around the league, so the Saints are going to tweak their plan. It doesn't look like they informed the running back of their intentions, which means he found out about the change of plans on Twitter:
That has to sting. Sproles has spent the last three seasons in New Orleans, so he deserves to stay in the loop about his future.
The 30-year-old goes from being able to pick his next team to having the Saints decide for him.
