Michael Vick Will Wear No. 1 for New York Jets

The New York Jets can officially start selling Michael Vick jerseys in the team shop.
The left-handed quarterback will wear No. 1 next season, after originally trying out No. 8. The news came directly from the source:
The No. 1 is certainly an interesting choice for Vick, as he will presumably compete with incumbent starter Geno Smith for the No. 1 spot on the quarterback depth chart. Vick threw for 1,215 yards and five touchdowns last season for the Philadelphia Eagles through only seven games before being plagued by injury.
He is always a threat to make plays with his legs, but he's now 33 years old—a starting gig may not be in the cards.
Still, Eagles running back LeSean McCoy believes Vick will earn that starting nod due to his ability and leadership skills, according to the New York Post (via ESPN.com):
