Seattle Seahawks Give Garrett Scott Full Signing Bonus Despite Being Waived

The Seattle Seahawks drafted offensive tackle Garrett Scott out of Marshall with the No. 199 overall pick in the sixth round, and while he has already been waived, the team decided to help the young man out.
During his pre-employment physical, the Seahawaks discovered a rare heart issue, forcing them to waive him with a non-football illness. However, according to Curtis Crabtree from KJR Sports Radio in Seattle, the Seahawks will still give Scott his full signing bonus, adding: 
If Scott clears waivers, he will revert to the team's injured reserve list. His contract would pay him $303,000 for the year plus his signing bonus. While his signing bonus is unknown, last year's 199th overall pick, RB Theo Riddick of the the Detroit Lions, received a $91,000 signing bonus. Scott's figure is likely similar.
