Sam Baker Injury: Updates on Falcons LT’s Knee and Return

Atlanta Falcons starting left tackle Sam Baker left the team's preseason contest on Saturday night against the Houston Texans after suffering an apparent knee injury. D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution tweeted the tackle's reaction when he went down:
NFL on ESPN expanded on the injury and noted Baker needed to be carted off the field:
Shortly after, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com made it known Baker would not be returning:
This comes as terrible news for a Falcons offensive line that gave up a total of 44 sacks last season. Much of that was due to the absence of Baker, who played in just four games in 2013 due to left knee issues.
Atlanta did select Jake Matthews in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft in hopes he will be the team's future starter at left tackle; however, he is currently being groomed at right tackle. Greg A. Bedard of theMMQB.com noted the significance of Baker's injury for the rookie:
