Glenn Dorsey Signs Extension with 49ers: Latest Details, Analysis and Reaction

The offseason just got a lot better for Glenn Dorsey. The 29-year-old nose tackle signed a two-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced on Tuesday.    
"Glenn is a true pro who has quickly become a valued contributor to our organization both on and off the field," said Niners general manager Trent Baalke. "He is a quick study and a very good football player that has earned this extension, and we look forward to his future contributions."
As Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo tweeted out, the timing of the extension is somewhat odd:
Dorsey might miss the entirety of the 2014 season after tearing a biceps muscle. Dave Siebert, M.D., a sports medicine expert for Bleacher Report, wrote that Dorsey could possibly make a return late into the regular season, but that's only a best-case scenario:
