Kyle Van Noy Injury: Updates on Lions Rookie’s Abdomen and Return

August 23, 2014   ·     ·   Jump to comments

Detroit Lions outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy is reportedly suffering from an abdominal injury.
"I can’t say where (it hurts) exactly because it moves," he said, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. "So I can’t say one specific area, so I’m trying to understand more about the process."
Birkett wrote that the rookie, who missed Friday's game against Jacksonville, could be dealing with a sports hernia. Van Noy will know more as he undergoes more tests next week.
The Lions selected the BYU star with the 40th overall pick in the 2014 draft. Expectations were high for the former Cougar. He's listed second in the depth chart at OLB behind Ashlee Palmer.
Van Noy recorded two solo tackles in Detroit's 27-26 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Aug. 15.
