J.J. Watt Becomes 5th Player with 50 Sacks Through 4 Seasons

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt recorded three sacks in Sunday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars to become just the fifth player in NFL history with 50 or more sacks through the first four seasons of his career, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN.com).
Watt now has 51 career sacks, tying him with Dwight Freeney for the fourth-most ever through a player's first four seasons. Reggie White's 70 easily set the standard, followed by Derrick Thomas' 58 and DeMarcus Ware's 53.5.
While Thomas and (definitely) White are out of reach, Watt can pass Ware for sole possession of third place, if the former Wisconsin Badger notches three sacks over the final three games of the season.
A runway favorite to win the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award, Watt has 14.5 sacks through 13 games this year, after posting 5.5 (2011), 20.5 (2012) and 10.5 (2013) in his first three seasons.
