O.J. Simpson’s Stolen 1968 Heisman Trophy Recovered by Police

The Heisman Trophy running back O.J. Simpson won at Southern California in 1968 was stolen in July 1994. On Tuesday, it was announced that the Los Angeles Police Department recovered Simpson's prestigious hardware on December 16.
Veronica Rocha of the Los Angeles Times reported the news. Rocha also noted that no further details would be released since the Heisman theft is still an ongoing investigation—over two decades later—according to LAPD Officer Drake Madison.
While Simpson had his own copy of the trophy, USC's was stolen from an athletics department display case.
Detectives had gone to court last month, requesting a search warrant for phone records involving an anonymous individual who was purported to be involved in the theft.
