Russell Wilson Contract: Latest Comments, Rumors Surrounding Seahawks QB

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is about to get paid.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday that Wilson is in line to receive a massive contract extension, one that would make him the richest quarterback in the NFL.
Seahawks fans knew it was only a matter of time before Wilson stopped being one of the best bargains in sports and started earning money more in line with his talent and the success he's helped bring Seattle.
According to Spotrac, Wilson is scheduled to earn a base salary of only $798,651 in 2015. Fifty-two quarterbacks, including Tarvaris Jackson, Josh Johnson, Kellen Clemens and Dan Orlovsky, had a higher base salary than Wilson had in 2014.
Since entering the league in 2012, Wilson has gone 40-13 in the regular season and playoffs, throwing for 11,046 yards and 78 touchdowns.
