Kevin Vickerson Signs with Jets: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction

Both Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News and Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday reported that the New York Jets signed Kevin Vickerson on Thursday.
Vickerson is an eight-year NFL veteran who has appeared in 86 regular-season games and made 44 starts. He spent 2014 with the Kansas City Chiefs, recording 12 total tackles.
ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini believes the 32-year-old defensive lineman is essentially a replacement for Kenrick Ellis, who signed with the New York Giants earlier in the week:
Vickerson won't offer much against the pass; he has just 6.5 sacks over his career. However, he's a solid, if unspectacular, run-stuffer and will bring a veteran presence to the Jets defensive line.
It's not like New York will need Vickerson to go above and beyond the call in 2015. With Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson on the ends and Damon Harrison inside, the Jets already have a solid presence up front.
The depth Vickerson provides will be an asset to the team...
