David Morgan, the father of Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, was arrested Tuesday morning on attempted murder charges after allegedly firing a gun outside a gentlemen's club in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
According to a police report obtained by the Herald, Morgan "allegedly fired several shots at an employee of the Crazy Horse club after Morgan had been removed from sitting on the stage." Morgan's shots missed the victim, who said he fired back in retaliation.
Morgan was struck in the shoulder during the melee, and police later arrested him at a local hospital. His wounds are not considered serious.
Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle passed along Morgan's mugshot:
Police charged Morgan with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime—both felonies. The attempted murder charge carries a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison, while there is a five-year mandatory minimum for the weapons charge.
