Report: Jets Reach Out to Grossman Tuesday, August 11 Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported the Jets have been in contact with Grossman in search of QB depth because of the broken jaw Geno Smith suffered.  
However, ESPN's Josina Anderson reported the Jets have "no imminent plan at this time" to workout Grossman. Anderson cited a source saying the Jets plan to enter their preseason game against the Detroit Lions “with the 3 arms that we have," per Anderson.   
Smith will be out for six to 10 weeks and needs surgery, head coach Todd Bowles said Tuesday, per the team's official Twitter account. The third-year signal-caller was punched by linebacker Ikemefuna Enemkpali in the morning, leading to Enemkpali's release later in the day.
