Stevie Brown Released by Texans: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

The Houston Texas have released safety Stevie Brown on Friday, according to ESPN's Tania Ganguli. 
Ganguli noted, per a source, that Brown wasn't likely to make the Texans roster, so this gives him a head start to find a new team before the season starts.
Brown, who turned down a contract offer by the New York Giants, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, signed with the Texans at the end of April.
Entering his sixth season in the NFL, Brown spent the past three years with the Giants where a torn ACL in 2013 held the safety back from becoming the team's premier defender. In his first year with the Giants in 2012, Brown led the NFL with eight interceptions in 16 games.
He appeared in all 16 games in 2014 after his injury but could not recreate any of his 2012 success, which is why, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano, things did not work out with the Giants and Brown earlier in the offseason. But that might change:
