Maybe it's just me, but I find Vegas lines more informative than any pregame show I've ever seen. Instead of listening to talking heads giving analysis such as "This is a big game for Team X," I'd rather listen to the opinions of those who are selectively putting their money where their mouth is.
As they say, money talks.
There's so much to learn from the way bettors and sportsbooks act throughout the week. Lines move due to both the public and sharp money while overlooked information comes out between matchups.
Gambling "edges" aren't always statistics like "Team X hasn't lost to Team Y in an October night game since 1957." Sometimes, they're just reminders that teams are coming off bye weeks, fatigue from traveling can take a toll on players and bad things happen when key contributors fall to injury.
