Zach Hocker Cut by Saints, Kai Forbath Signed: Latest Comments and Reaction

The New Orleans Saints have made a personnel change that merits more attention this season than in years past.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported New Orleans is releasing kicker Zach Hocker, with the team signing Kai Forbath to replace him, per Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed the Saints' transactions Monday.
Hocker has made nine out of 13 field-goal attempts and missed only one of 12 extra-point tries after the NFL opted to move the ball back for extra-point attempts. Washington released Forbath just one game into this season after he made one of two field goals.
New Orleans improved to 2-4 with a season-saving win over the previously undefeated Atlanta Falcons in Week 6. In that contest, Hocker missed two out of three field goals, which is likely why the Saints gave him the pink slip.
