Matt Elam Suspended: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

Baltimore Ravens safety Matt Elam has been suspended one game without pay "for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse," the team announced Friday. 
"We have been aware of this situation for awhile," the Ravens wrote in a statement. "Matt has been in our building rehabbing his injury on a regular basis, and he will continue to do so." 
Elam was placed on season-ending injured reserve before the start of the 2015 campaign after tearing his biceps. According to ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley, he will lose a game check worth $60,010.
Elam started 26 of a possible 32 games after the Ravens selected him with their first-round pick in the 2013 draft. During those healthy stretches, he compiled 87 tackles and an interception while defending eight passes. 
The suspension won't affect the Ravens this season due to Elam's IR status, so Baltimore will continue to game-plan for the San Diego Chargers as they seek to rebound from a Week 7 los...
