Marshall Breaks Jets Single-Season Record for Receiving Yards

New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall finished the regular season with a franchise-record 1,502 receiving yards, breaking the old mark of 1,434 yards that was set by Hall of Famer Don Maynard back in 1967, per Elias Sports Bureau via ESPN.com.
Following a disappointing 2014 campaign with the Chicago Bears, the 31-year-old Marshall was traded to New York along with a seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a mere fifth-round selection.
Marshall ultimately fell just six yards shy of the record for most receiving yards by a player in his first year with a new team, but he probably won't be too disappointed, as the record is one that he already owns, having amassed 1,508 receiving yards in 2012, his first season in Chicago.
Per ESPN Stats & Info, Marshall also tied the Jets franchise record for touchdown catches in a single season, with his 14 matching both Maynard (1965) and Art Powell (1960).
